This essay explores and expounds upon the ideas of navigating spaces as a Black woman in creative and academic areas. Referencing Bell Hooks, Arthur Jafa, Toni Morrison, and anecdotal accounts from Black women studying Fine Arts within predominantly white institutions, I aim to provide a foundation that acts as a catalyst to encourage and energize agency for their personhood.
