This past weekend, Jaccara Queen of 4orce of Nature visited BLAK KANVAS for an interview. They discussed the meaning of colors, family, and perspectives of womanhood. Updates were shared about works BLAK KANVAS currently has on view.
For the next three months, Homiey Fruitvale in Oakland, CA will have four original pieces installed that will be on view during regular business hours.

Homiey is a resource and community center. They have created a safe space within their community for people to come study, work on personal goals, advocate, and host events.
BLAK KANVAS met with the curators to discuss how the artwork would be displayed for the upcoming weekend. The Summer Art show debuted Sunday, August 6, 2019. We discussed the environment and how the space is a successful vessel for creators and artists to utilize.
Community spaces like Homiey are necessary for growth. When there are people that create safe venues for creatives in addition to those that need an atmosphere to showcase- the building blocks for a strong community are strengthened.
BLAK KANVAS embodies growth and inspiration. Every opportunity that is desired can be attained- we begin with self to strive ourselves forward in order to maintain momentum.

Immense gratitude is given to Homiey Fruitvale for not only selecting, but accommodating and servicing the needs of the artists with kindness and patience.
The Summer Art show which debuted the newly installed artwork from a handful of varying artists was very cozy and intimate. New visitors arrived and connected with one another. A couple of guests studied the 'Sister Pieces' installed.
Thank you Homiey Fruitvale.
