This past week, The Skyscraper Project opened their platform for visual artists to showcase their work at Innerspace Art Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. The show featured original works by three artists: Joanna, Christina, and BLAK KANVAS. Each style was unique and offered  variation as guests entered. All proceeds earned at the door will be donated to local women shelters in the Los Angeles area.

Upon entering, there is a nook to the left where Joanna showcased her work. She is a walking canvas and the work much resembles antique tattoo art. Her lines are bold and shadowing, soft.

Welcoming you into the bar, BLAK KANVAS installed four pieces that livened up the surrounding space. The first piece was subtle with negative space and progressed into color embracing the textured negative space.

Turning to the right, Christinas' display was soothing and subtle. The pieces juggle colors of white, a green-like teal color, black and a light hue of brown. Guests made their way down to her display while enjoying wine, tequila, and whiskey.

Everyone in attendance set the mood for the event: very casual, yet esteemed. Emily C. curated such an intimate and comfortable showing. Later in the evening, guests trickled in from the DTLA Artwalk. People visited to inquire about unique pieces and those favored. The Skyscraper Project hosted a gratuitous event which further aligned with what I believe in: creating safe spaces for artists to showcase their work-to be a platform and share so that others can be exposed to tasteful works by tasteful people.
