The ability to riff ideas and explore tangential conversations and ways of doing, ways of being—you ever see someone do something…& think..damn…that’s genius! I desire to be around that, more often than not.

To invite and incite genius from those often left out of the conversation— those not spoken to and ostracized— ironically, isolation acts as an incubator, a catalyst for growth, for change— the adversity needed to produce genius— tension, trial and error--
failure as acceptance in the ebb and flow of success— succession.
The original work is spray paint on canvas. It was stolen and thrown in the trash, missing an opportunity to have a discussion about this piece— losing a moment for an enriched dialogue/discussion/discourse..
It reads, "This puts genius-hood within reach of every nigga" an ode to those not spoken to and left out of the conversation. I sit with this piece as a reminder that although within reach, some may forget to stretch and adopt a mindset of openness or the practice of receptivity to unique perspectives.
Periodt is an invitation to disrupt the conservative to include others. Made to order, the increase in accessibility is an act of rebellion against those that aim to silence people they do not understand and refuse to hold a space for.

I am making this piece available to be collected through an edition of 100 made to order on raw canvas. These funds will assist in covering necessary costs for grad school as I begin to transition into a Master’s program this Fall for Contemporary Art Practices. I must raise $50k and can do this by allowing my work to be re-homed.
As I continue to set myself up for growth, this investments value will increase over time. This is a gift for the both of us.
